Recovering heat

We are constantly forcing measures for the recovery of heat at our production sites. Installed heat counters document the sustainable success.

  • We use waste heat from the cooling machines and use it to heat our production rooms.
  • The use of evaporation condensers supports the cooling processes.
  • We optimise compressor controls and thus reduce system pressure.
  • The condensate is used to recover heat.
  • We use heat exchangers.

The used or generated heat in the production areas is recovered and saves on the use of fossil fuels such as natural gas.

Recovery of heat - A benefit for the environment

CO2eq (to) = CO2-Equivalent im Vergleich zum Einsatz von Erdgas

The recovered amount of heat has increased 3-fold since 2008 and in 2013 a total of 931,151 m3 natural gas could be saved thus, 2,262 tonnes of CO2eq

The following reductions were achieved per milk processing amount with a 9.42% increase in the amount of milk 2012/2013:

  • 8.94% less natural gas
  • 9.32% less electricity
  • 8.00% less fresh water
