The gourmet dairy Zott has achieved a significant milestone on the path to greater climate protection. In the year 2023, Zott joined the Science Based Targets initiative (SBTi) and committed to set science based emission reduction targets. Its ambitious emission reduction targets have now officially been validated by the SBTi.
Frank Uszko, CEO of Zott:
"Acting responsibly for the sake of future generations has always been part of our ethos as a family business. It is important to us that our goals are based on sound scientific principles. I am therefore delighted that the SBTi has officially confirmed that our climate targets are consistent with climate science findings. Close cooperation with our milk producers, suppliers, and customers along the entire value chain is of central importance in this regard."

About the Science Based Targets initiative (SBTi):
The SBTi originated from a partnership between the Carbon Disclosure Project (CDP), the United Nations Global Compact, the World Resources Institute (WRI) and the World Wide Fund for Nature (WWF). The SBTi supports companies around the globe to set science based targets for emission reductions and validates their conformity with the Paris Agreement.
1 The target boundary includes biogenic land-related emissions and removals from bioenergy feedstocks.
* FLAG = Forest, Land, and Agriculture, i.e., GHG emissions from forestry, land use, and agriculture.
